UPDATE!

We are moving!

On Saturday the 4th of June we moved from John Wesley Methodist Church to St. John’s Lutheran Church located at 141 S. Potomac Street Hagerstown MD 21740. We will hold our Thursday community feeding here giving everyone a more accessible location for our clients with disabilities.

As a growing community organization, we are in need of volunteers who can provide weekly lunches for our community, regular partners for events, and volunteers to help us serve our community on Thursdays.

As we grow we are continually looking for volunteer board members such as the Director of Marketing, Treasure, Grant Writer, and Director of Volunteers. email, call or leave a message on our Facebook page.

Washington County GIVES!

Washington County GIVES is September 22, 2020. For the second year, It’s a Blessing to Be a Blessing, Inc. will be a part of this wonderful day of giving. Please share and help us spread the word! Donations make it possible for us to provide free hot meals, clothing, and other basic necessities for our most vulnerable community residents.

Weekly Lunches are BACK! NEW LOCATION!

We’re excited to announce updates to our services and operations. Effective July 2, 2020, we will resume weekly community buffet style lunches. All are welcome! Check out our events page for details on time and location.

We’ve MOVED! Our new physical address is Rowe Hall 129 South Potomac Street. We’ve partnered with John Wesley Methodist Church to be able to expand and grow! Our mailing address is P.O. Box 2633 Hagerstown, MD 21741.

2019 Annual Cold Hands, Warm Heart Community Luncheon

Bagged Lunches Provided for REACH

We recently partnered with REACH to supply bagged lunches to their clients. Here’s what our founder and Executive Director had to say about it:

“Thank you to everyone who partnered with us to Be A Blessing to our Homeless Buddies/Community Members by providing them with lunch and even dinner for many of them as well. Thank you REACH for asking us to be a part of the event. There were many different health care agencies and organizations there ready to serve/help our Buddies. We did have leftover lunches but REACH will give to residents as they leave at 7am tomorrow. I also went and passed some out to Hotel Homeless Families and took some to Soul Haven Wellness and Recovery Center to pass out to our mutual Buddies/Client's. 150 people were blessed today and tomorrow from lunches from the event. #HomelessLivesMatter #HealthCareMatters #CommunityMatters #CommunityPartners #TogetherWeCan

Sharing Blessings @ the 2019 Bester Community of HOPE Southside Block Party

It’s a Blessing to Be a Blessing, Inc. participated in the Southside Block Party sponsored by the Bester Community of HOPE. Over 450 people were provided with a sample plate of delicious food provided by It’s a Blessing to Be a Blessing founder, Deirdre Norris and volunteers.

Lowe's Donates Storage Freezer

IT’S A BLESSING TO BE A BLESSING, INC. was recently blessed with a generous donation from our local Lowe’s. The freezer will be used to store food and will allow It’s a Blessing to serve more individuals, elderly, and families in need of meals. We are grateful for Lowes’ generosity. There are many in our community that will benefit!
